Along with the neighbouring Church of Our Lady, Roman, Salian, Romanesque-Gothic and baroque elements fuse together to form an extraordinarily expressive ensemble of churches.

Trier's impressive legacy includes the Römerbrücke bridge, the Barbarathermen thermal baths and of course the famous landmark of the town, the 1,800-year-old Porta Nigra gate.
