The Night of Industrial Culture is celebrating its eleven birthday on 9 July 2011. The colourful festival of the Metropolis Ruhr will be an unforgettable night.
ExtraSchicht has been living up to this ideal since its premiere in 2001, with unusual, colourful and compelling productions at industrial sites both active and defunct. When decommissioned mines, slagheaps, gasometers and industrial facilities become stages for dance, street theatre, light art, music, exhibitions and guided tours – then it must be ExtraSchicht, then the Ruhr Area comes alive, and is full of ardent revellers.
