Schleswig Holstein Music Festival SHMF
From July 11- 30, 2009

Germany as a music nation is being put in focus of the festival, as the 20th anniversary of the Fall of the Wall is one of the vital political reasons für the Schleswig Holstein Music Festival. Besides the master pieces the programme 2009 does also approach German music history from an unusual perspective – e.g. the Johannes Passion of Johann Sebastian Bach directed by the American star director Robert Wilson. Duckstein Festival (on the banks of the River Trave in Lübeck)
From August 7-16, 2009
The formula for success of the festival is the wonderful mixture of art, culture and culinary offers being presented within an unique atmosphere along the banks of the river Trave. It is a stylish ambience where the close community of fans meets with friends, they enjoy live music of the finest and culinaric delicacies from all over the world. 9th Lübeck Night of the Museum
August 29, 2009

Every year on the last saturday in August the museums of Lübeck invite all nightowls for the Night of the Museum. The museums as well as numerous galleries and cultural facilities like the Brahms Institute, the Overbeck Society and St. Petri do open their doors right until midnight. There are about 30 places within town awaiting the visitor with a colourful programme – the range lasts from live music across theatre events to readings and performances.
