Thurn und Taxis Palace Festival in July
The combination of princely atmosphere and glamorous soirées underneath the open sky is certainly unique. The princely palace in Regensburg with its 500 rooms is the greatest occupied castle of Germany. And the enchanting, spacious palace garden is a first-rate natural monument, which hasn’t been open to the public for the last decades.
Therefore we have to thank her highness Mariae Gloria Princess of Thurn and Taxis for opening the impressive palace complex every year in July for the annual open-air-festival with many high-class performers.
Exclusive, but not snobbish, ambitious but also outright with the choice of international artists: that’s the Thurn and Taxis festival idea. It is bright, with style and southern charm.
The wonderful, ample park with its fascinating trees, the innumerous fountains and pavilions, the dreamy palace pond and verandas and the lot of romantic corners are artistically inspirited. The programme accounts for diversity, variation and spontaneity.
A delight for all senses – for the eyes and ears and of course for the palate. Because artistry meets culinary art at the different pavilions. From tasty snacks to noble delicacies for gourmets; from juicy refreshments and a cool beer to an elegant glass of Champaign.
